While a bag-based unit is never going to offer the security of a hard, locked roofbox, the Ranger has many advantages. It’s much easier to store, and simpler and lighter to fix in place. We found it a doddle to load, too, thanks to the top flap which can be folded out of the way when unzipped. The five-year warranty reflects Thule’s confidence in the design and materials.
