Compared to similar DIY specialist Wickes, you can see where B&Q has cut a few corners. The hose is shorter – by five metres – and you only get a nozzle rather than a gun. There’s a bit more to do before you can use it, too. Despite this, you can unwind and the unit stays put, although the narrower reel seemed to snag more often when putting the hose back in.
