Quality everywhere here, from the upmarket case to the drill itself. The two batteries charged in only 30 minutes and the 400rpm and 1,300rpm speeds were ideal for car work. It spun freely, even under load when brushing the rust, and though being ‘only’ Ni-Cd, the battery showed no signs of faltering. With a single-handed chuck and a weight of 2.1kg, it’s easy to see why Makita is a trade favourite.
