Tyre giant Michelin knows a lot about jacks, too, as this unit has a test best 2.5-tonne max weight. As with the RAC, it suits big cars like 4x4s, as its extension, with its rubber insert, raises the saddle by 7cm. We liked the swivelling lifting handle – ideal if space is tight. But there’s a separate lever for the quick lift, and it’s pricey.
