How’s this for an all-rounder? Armor All’s new Tech and Screen Wipes claim to clean your car’s glass, as well as your gadgets’ displays. We tried them for size.

As with rival products, they are damp to the touch, just like baby wipes. The tiny pack is easy to open, with a cap to keep each wipe moist and a plastic insert to ensure you draw one at a time.

Each cloth measures 18cm by 15cm, so if one area gets dirty, there’s scope to fold over and find a clean patch.

One wipe made light work of fingerprints on our smartphone, while still leaving enough cleaning power to spruce up the display of our portable sat-nav, too.

Better still, we were also able to shift the suction cup marks left by the navi’s mount. Just bear in mind that you’ll want to polish your sat-nav or phone with a microfibre cloth afterwards.

A pack of 20 costs £2.99, so each wipe works out at about 15p – not the most cost-effective way to clean your screen, then.

Still, using the Armor All wipes requires less effort than a cloth on its own, and won’t scratch your screen like paper towel. Plus, the handy tube easily stows away in your glovebox or cup holder.
