An unbeatable combination of price and performance from Clarke. The maker reckons these monsters will start petrol engines of up to 7.0 litres, thanks to the 500-amp capacity and 35mm cable.

Our tests show they spun our test engine more quickly than any other leads here, and with minimal heat build-up. We also liked the boot-friendly zip bag, and well sprung fully insulated clamps. An easy winner.
