Based on its predecessor, the HS-810, the HS-850 offered improved talk and standby times. Microphone performance was good, with only a little background roar intruding, while the flip-down boom/on/off switch made using it easy.

We liked the ease of operation, which put most functions on the large exterior button, but voice dialling did not work on the move. The high price may put people off, but it still earns our Recommended award.
