These bolts might act as a visible deterrent - but that's about it. The Cartim set was quite crudely made, and the heads had three grooves to match the circular rods in the key. Unusually, the keying was all on one side of the bolt, making the job of removing them even easier. We had a choice of quick, quiet methods of attack, while devising a master key would be child's play.
