Digital radio is sweeping through UK homes, but few new cars come with a DAB tuner. So if you want crystal clear reception and dozens of new stations on the move, you'll have to pay for it.
To get DAB, you can either replace the existing head unit with a digital tuner, or use an external receiver and feed the sound into the set-up.
The choice depends on what you have already, but you'll probably need to add an aerial, for £25 to £40. We gathered in-car and portable units for the ultimate digital sound-off.
If you're replacing your entire system, JVC's top-value KD-DB711 is best, with the entry-level Blaupunkt next.
However, if you want to keep your existing kit, the Revo is a clear champion.
