Unusually, the Steelmate had a back-to-front display, designed to be fitted so that the driver can check it in the rear view mirror. It also had twin flashing bar graphs which showed when the sensor was operating - turning from yellow to red when really close to an object. It worked very well on the bollard and car tests and at half a metre away from the bike. The price looks high but includes installation, making itgood valuefor those drivers who dislike DIY.
