Working under the bonnet was a joy with the Impact. The rubberised cord and hook made it simple to hang in place, and the grooved rubber casing gripped to surfaces. There was a good spread of light, but we found it a bit weak in the brightness stakes. Still, the bulb and batteries were easy to get at, it was splash proof and the drop test didn’t affect its performance.
