Give yourself a head start on frosted glass by applying an overnight de-icer – the liquid equivalent of newspaper on the windscreen. Spray on and come out to clear windows, whatever the weather. Halfords’ version costs £2.49. Also look out for rain repellent, which makes it harder for ice to stick to the glass and keeps it clearer for longer.
