Maplin supplied this neat Auro, which comes with a nylon webbing belt pouch. Two AA batteries power the single LED, which can be used in ‘high’, ‘low’ and ‘flash’ modes. We found high to be superb over a distance but too narrow under the bonnet. Here, the low setting was best. Irritatingly, the Auro turned itself off in our drop test – not good when trying to find it at night.
