Cyclops

Price: £369

Free period: 12 months

Annual subscription: £45

Age is catching up with the Cyclops, but it's certainly well made, and the firm claims the location system means it's impossible to give a false alarm. It doesn't have a windscreen bracket, though, and sticking Velcro to the dash seems a bit low-rent.

The old design was also shown up by a serial PC connector and lack of features, such as range selection, voice warning or accident hot spot indicator. It worked on the road, but others provided more information.
