On paper, the Challenge was a dead ringer for the Clarke, as it comes with identical extras, scales and awkward graduations. Incredibly, it cost even less, although the trade-off was evident in the tool's performance in our tests. It managed to miss all the targets and at 70Nm, it was consistently nine per cent adrift.
