The Clio is a lovely little first car. Its very good looking from the front, has very comfortable, slightly sculpted seats (this is the Clio Campus Sport), the stereo isn't bad, the air-con works a treat, the cabin is a nice place to be, the metallic blue paint looks lovely and its a relaxed little cruiser on the motorways, comfortable at 70 - 80mph.

On the negative side - it isn't particularly powerful (banked motorway slip-roads can be a bit of a test!) but that is to be expected in a 75bhp 1.2 litre engine!

I wouldn't buy it again as I am aiming slightly higher for my next car (I'm thinking Golf GTi), something with a bit more performance and quality but I am extremely fond of my little Clio and would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying a car in its sector.

Its not the car going wrong that has put me of renualt, its there poor customer service after sale. The high service price which is about £40 per hour higher then other companys on labour.
I have taken my car in for its secound service, I was told that I needed new brake pads and tyres straight away. When I checked the tyres myself the lowest reading was 2.1mm and when i changed the brake pads they where only 75% worn. They also wanted £350 to change the brake pads, the new pads I put on cost £20 and it only took me 20min to do the job. This was the main dealer I went to, I think that they are taking advantege of there customers.

I have been thoroughly happy with my car since I purchased it. I have been a fan of the RenaultSport range for a long time, but this was the first time that I had owned one.

It has yet to miss a beat and to date the only costs associated with running it are the wear and tear parts, i.e. the tyres and brake pads etc.

It has outstanding handling and the performance is fantastic. I have yet to find another car in this sector that can offer so much fun per pound.

I am now seriously considering purchasing its predecessor, the Clio 200.

Excellent generously sized supermini with an adequate performance from a smooth and responsive small petrol turbo engine. Comfort good for a car of this size, absorbs bumps well. Able to return good economy figures if desired. Steering overly light with little feel, but good for parking. Annoyingly, if parked, the engine has to be started in order to operate the passenger window!. Absolutely no problems so far, Renault quality so much better since Nissan partnership.

FOR WHAT THE CAR IS DESIGNED FOR I.E. A CITY RUN AROUND CAR IT PERFORMS WELL OBVIOUSLY IF YOU COMPARE IT WITH A LEXUS OR MERCEDES IT'S NOT VERY GOOD BUT FOR THE PRICE
{I PAID £6000 NEW} IT IS GOOD VALUE AND YES I WOULD BUY ANOTHER ALL BE IT WITH A MORE POWERFUL ENGINE. THE ONLY POINT I WOULD MARK IT DOWN FOR WOULD BE THE FUEL CONSUMPTION AT JUST 32 AROUND TOWN.

Performance: 3/5 Braking: 4/5 Handling: 4/5
2004-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Minor faults over last 3 years, regular failure of headlamp washer jets which start leaking (a known fault), alternator replacement, exhaust brackets broken. Fuel consumption good for the performance, servicing and maintainance has been reasonable, again considering the performance. it uses high octaine fuel so fuel is more per letre than diesel.

I own a Clio Sport 182 with cup packs and it is the most fantastic little hot hatch. Plenty of power on tap, near pefect handling and grip with hardly any body roll and beautiful styling. This is my 3rd Clio and I will be looking to get a 197/200 next! You just can't get more bang for your buck for the money.

Its good feels well built and has not let me down yet. apart from a camblet change that has to be done. Well its expensive to run but its worth it to me as its a performance car. I like the speed so I will pay the price . the parts are cheap tyres arent to bad aslong as you dont wheel spin.

brilliant little car, although Renault always get bad publicity, this is the second Renault we have had, first one was a Megane and no problem with that either that easily got repaired.
this one had a turbo engine which means it is lower on tax but not on performance, great car.

02-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Great car for its size, brilliant for town driving and preety good on B roads, okay to use now and again on motorways but not powerful enough to drive on them all the time. Power is down going uphill at times but brakes are brillaint and as easy to drive as a go-kart!

i had a service when i had the car about 6 months after buying the car and i had to have all the brakes doing (disks all round) and then had the MOT about 6 months later and 1 of the brakes had to be looked at again because it was working probs.

It is the most pleasant drive in a car I have experienced, comfy seats with Lumbar support, brilliant brakes and steering, and an unrivalled amount of power which is incomparable in various other hot hatches, the perfect all round car.

Performance: 4/5 Braking: 3/5 Handling: 3/5

The car has stayed with me so long because its by far still the best hot hatch - renaultsport cars still are amazing but everytime i drive my one its given me many memories with the handling and the engine the best features.

I used to own a previous model of Clio (MKIII) - I have to say that my new Clio is a big improvement in terms of interior, styling and Renault has continued to deliver excellent work on diesel technology.

The car is ok for maybe a couple with no children.
But i find having a childs seat in the back, the room for outher passengers is limited and the 3 door model which i own ,also is not good for a family..

The Clio R27 has been brilliant over the past year - no faults to report and every time I drive it makes me smile! The ride and handling are best in class and it eases miles away with no effort at all.

More solid and practical than previous renaultsport clio I owned, but as much fun. Great handling, engine and brakes, and very good reliability during 3 years ownership.
