06-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Very reliable, very economical, surprisingly spacious. No repairs needed, but servicing by local dealer extremely expensive, and with all the extras they persuaded me to buy with my second-hand car it would probably have been cheaper to buy new (this was before the present scrappage scheme). But overall satisfaction very high.

The drivers side door lock does not operste below 0 degc, I can hear all the other lock opening/closing but the drivers stays silent and only comes back to operation above zero, other wise no probs aoart from the low mpg. Does not do more than 34mpg on long runs and for a 1.2 engine this is abysmal, I got 38 from my 1.6 megane.

2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Never had one problem. the car is driven hard but remains very well held together. I was always expeting costs to be high with this vehicle, but it is achieving btter mpg than I was expecting. so whilst running costs are not cheap they are exceeding expectations.

2006-reg Petrol, Owner for more than 5 years

I have only ever had to call out my breakdown service once and all other expenditure has been for expected wear & tear and servicing/mot,. I have been surprised at the cost of spare parts, I.e. I have expected them to be more expensive than they actually were.

04-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Excellent small car - 80bhp model - drives well and is fine for motorway work. Easy to park as only small and consistent 60+ mpg and £35 road tax means it is dirt cheap to run. Would definitely by newer model of Clio when looking to replace in future.

53-reg Diesel, Owner for More than 5 years

My Clio's served me well over the last 6 years, it's, cheap to run, economical, reasonably quick, and I can generally get everything I need to into it. However, the build quality is not especially good, it's noisy and not particularly comfortable.

Cost: 5/5
2006-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

I have owned the renault clio for over three years now and not had any problems with it until recently which I think is very good for a seven year old car. The clio 1.6 is not the most economical, petrol wise and renault parts are quite expensive.

Cost: 3/5
2010-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Only had one teething problem with selecting gears which after an oil change by the dealer is now sorted and the car runs perfectly again. Tax is surprisingly high for a 1.2 ltr engine and I'd have hoped for a slightly higher mpg than 40 average.

2011-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Electrical issues seem fine but there is an ongoing issue with the starter motor in the car that renault have been unable to solve as of yet. Good overall but would be expecting more mpg - it is about 10mpg longer than the official figure.

1998-reg Petrol, Owner for more than 5 years

I have had this car for over 10 years and I can count the number of times it has broken down on the fingers of one hand. Good mpg. I take it to a mechanic who doesn't insist on using genuine renault parts so it works out a lot cheaper!

Cost: 5/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Major problems with it immediately after we bought it. Our last 5door clio turbo imusic gave us a 42.5 mpg, this new car is identical so is disappointing to not get as good as or better mpg.....never get what usual figures say anyway.

Cost: 3/5
2008-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

3 component failures in just over 2 years, two of which took the car off the road. upc unit failed with just 35,000 miles on the clock resulting in very expensive replacement. Fuel economy acceptable but parts too expensive.

Cost: 2/5
05-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Its a great little car especially for all the town driving that I do, so its really nippy to around and mpg is also very good. Would happily have another one of these models but equally happy to have another model.

Cost: 4/5
2010-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

I have had the car for 3 years now and not had any problems at all, up to now. I get on average 38 mpg on short journeys and 44 mpg on long motorway journeys, which I think is good for a petrol engine.

Cost: 4/5
2011-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Oil leak needed major repair. fan broke, again a major repair. not good in a car less than a year old at the time. Reasonably fueld efficient, though nowhere near as good as claimed or expected.

Cost: 5/5
04-reg Petrol, Owner for More than 5 years

A superb, fast car that is also comfortable, practical and economical enough for every day use. The kind of car that you make unnecessary journeys in, just so you can drive it!

Cost: 5/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

No issues at all so far. best car I have owned to date. Fuel consumtion is far in excess of what I expected. servicing costs are included in the 4 years thing I got free.

Cost: 5/5
2000-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Very good, minus the odd issue that comes with a 13 year old car. I run it on super unleaded for one. some spare parts can be expensive if going to a main dealer.

Cost: 3/5
2005-reg Petrol, Owner for more than 5 years

Never had a problem with any aspect of the car during ownership. Expensive to run due to parts being specialised and fuel costs required for the sports engine.

Cost: 2/5

Great reliability, no breakdowns, starts straight away in the cold weather, good grip when braking. Pretty economic, has a good mpg, fuel lasts a long time.
