Given that SEAT shares so much with the Skoda Octavia – which finished well up our chart – this is a hard result to fathom.

Only four cars have a worse ride than the Leon, while comfort and ease of driving could be better.

Reliability and build quality are poor – 81st place for the latter suggests that Skoda is well ahead.

The Leon is a brilliant drivers car with superb road holding. excellent handling and firm but not uncomfortable ride. The 2.0, 140bhp engine is also excellent though not all that economical, returning around 46mpg, but maybe there is just too much temptation to use the 'loud' pedal. No real gripes, though the rear seat base doesn't split/fold, so the luggage carrying capacity is compromised. I love it - so much more satisfying than my previous Skoda Fabia 3 1.9TDi.

The Leon is a very well built car and it has aged favourably compared with similar sized cars of the same age. The ride is a little hard, but it is an easy and generally rewarding car to drive. The only reason I would not buy another Seat is the company's questionable styling policy in recent years and brand image.

does what it says on the tin!! comfortable , easy to drive, a few toys, good over long journeys, easy to park, good steering and brakes. good service from the dealers -only the cost of tyres being a bit of a suprise

An excellent car. Ride quality superb. Road noise within cabin is extremely quiet, even at speed. This is the second SEAT I've had and would definitely be looking at getting another one in the future.

Generally good, the interior quality could be better and the ride is really firm but it was much cheaper than decent competition, it gets decent fuel economy and performance is pretty good.

The FL Leon FR TDi is a real improvment I test drovethe orginal FR TDi and found it too hard and noisey. Fas fun and frugal pretty much sums the car up my best car so far by far!!
