Twice I have had a flat battery(my own fault) but there is no warning to tell you it's gonna die. it tells you when the petrol will run out. very reliable. It cost ł28 for a full tank of fuel. this will last about 2 weeks driving everyday. ł30 tax. cheap insurance. only had one part changed under warranty. mercedes quoted ł350 but my local mechanic quoted ł70 which I thought wasn't bad for a sensor including labour.

Left me stranded and car less over a bank holiday weekend which if the dealer had reacted to my complaints would never have happened. Insurance was no cheaper than my previous seat leon 2.0tdi and fuel consumption poor. the car also went through its rear tyres in just 15,000 miles (compared to my partner's c1 which went 24,000).

It's very well built and with regular maintenance in looking to have this vehicle for quite done time without much hassle. Well tax is 30 a year. pretty amazing. insurance is cheap as chips compared to my last vehicle and that wasn't anything fancy. fuel is quite good also tend to get around 250 miles per tank (ł35).

Nice to be driving a car which has a minimum effect on global warming. The 45bhp sounds like it would be an effort to drive but the light body and excellent gearing makes it a pleasure to drive both in town and on the motorway.

It's fun, it's cheeky, it's great in town, it's still very economical out of town, it's easy to park, it's cheap. It's exactly enough car - I don't know why any needs anything bigger to get to work and back every day.

An underrated machine that may need a bit of learning to get the best out of (like any other niche or classic would), but once you've bonded, it's for life!

CHOSE FOR THE POWER STEERING and that is Brill! Might go for a higher bhp but it gets me there and is good for other drivers also...Family of Smart Lovers

Smashing little convertible. Because you can open and close the roof at any speed you tend to use it roof down at every opportunity - including December.

As long as you accept the compromises that come with a two seater, the fortwo is a great package that can deliver all that you ask for not much money
