Some city cars seek fashion conscious buyers with their funky styling, but the little Suzuki Celerio focuses unashamedly on practicality and cost. It’s not ugly by any means, but there’s not much design flair to speak of and the interior feels cheap compared to city car rivals.
You can’t argue with the numbers though, and the spec-level isn’t bad either. The Celerio may be the cheapest new car to own in the UK today, but you still get alloy wheels, air-conditioning, Bluetooth and a DAB radio.
Total cost of ownership (3-years, 36,000 miles): £6,914.12
Monthly running costs: £192.06
Cost per mile: 23p
