Overall Average Rating: 85.19%
Position in the Top 100 cars: 55th

It’s Vauxhall’s highest placed car in this year’s survey, although not every owner is satisfied.

In terms of practicality, performance and ease of driving, you told us that the Corsa doesn’t quite hit the mark.

However, 29th for reliability is more encouraging, while 30th in the running costs chart means the baby Vauxhall won’t break the bank.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 33rd)

A step in the right direction – but even though Vauxhall has risen a place, 33rd is poor. Owners say their cars aren’t comfortable or easy to drive, don’t have strong brakes and are too unreliable.

Very impressed. Engine not as bad as the magazine reviews indicated - guess you need to live with the car for six months before you can make real judgements. Economy nowhere near as good as Government figures, but still quite impressive given the way I drive. Insurance was amazing, £175 fully comp with all the add-ons. This, combined with nearly 10mpg more than old car and scrappage made this a great deal. Especially given I'll save nearly a hundred quid on the road tax each year too. Have done some big trips in this small engined car and it's handled them with great aplume. Comfort is top notch and it handles like a hot hatch making A - B travelling along country roads nowhere near as slow as expected - very reminisint of my old MG Metro (RIP).

It's very good for what it is, but having previously had a 2001 Punto 16v ELX, despite a similar engine it can't deliver the performance because of the excess weight, which is its biggest disappointment.

Also, although unique on launch, it has become the template, making it the most generic hatchback EVER.

Hand Brake keeps jamming on, they wouldnt fix it under warranty, so I am waiting for next sevice which includes the servicing of the hand brake. Front brakes are on a recall, but every time i have tried to book it in, am told the parts are not yet available.
Other than that, i think the car pretty good.

over rated - engine under powered have 1.3 cdti 5 door, fuel economy not as advertised.has had to get new clutch, brakes were said to be replaced year before this year 80% worn ?? usual franchise dealer nonsense. Not buying vauxhall again my 05 renault scenic was more reliable..

Lovely small car, easy to park, fast enough for me, great steering, economical, just what I need. Love the 03 reg. Corsa, looks much better than the new one, which is heavy and needs a much bigger engine than mine (which has 1.2 and that is plenty).

Performance: 4/5 Braking: 4/5 Handling: 5/5

brilliant first car, the 1.4 gives enough power to satisfy performance needs and the SXI gives the normal boring stylish a bit of class. i would definitely consider another corsa in the future over an equivalent fiesta etc.

Overall, very pleased. However, manufacturer could make better use of available space, such as drinks holders, easier access glovebox etc.

Does what I expected it to do, not to bad at anything, but not great at anything. Teachers report would be " could do better ".

Suitable for most of my needs, but I miss the performance I would expect from a 1.4 engine.
