2003-reg Diesel, Owner for more than 5 years

This is a car my wife had new on january 1 2004. when we married last year I sold my car as this one was bigger, so now this is our only car, so we both own it. it has been a good car to my wife and the seating foldability is brilliant for carrying things. it has almost 90,000 miles coming up, not a lot for a diesel as my last diesel had 232,000 miles on it when I sold it but it goes well, never had a serious problem with it up until the present and sails through the m.o.t.'s. although during the next year we will probably swop it for a vw transporter or long wheelbase vw caddy. The fuel consumption is good at around 48 to 52 mpg. I always run my cars on michelin tyres and it had continentals on it, so we replaced them with michelins at 55,000 miles, the front ones still have 3mm of tread and the rear ones 6mm. it did have a fault come up after 70,000 miles which needed the dash taken out, cost about ł120 and at the moment we are having the car alarm keep going off for no reason, so we are disabling it and just locking the car normally. it has been good.

In over eight years, apart from usual wear and tear items, we have only had to replace the coil pack. Fuel consumption has increased with the cars age, but this is to be expected. it did have a habit of wearing front wiper blades out very quickly, however since swapping to flat blades this problem has gone. oil consumption is also on the increase (age), but certainly not a problem. servicing parts are average in price and vauxhall service packs can often be cheaper than sourcing from car parts shops.

I use the rear seats frequently and the car interior is quite easy to change to hold the variety of passengers in our househod. Overall I like this model of car - this is the 2nd time I've bought a Zafira. The main drawback is the front right panel which causes a blind spot - particulary for me as i am quite small in height.

57-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

A good, practical, value for money car. It's the first people carrier I've owned and would certainly purchase another. So many seating options and the huge boot when rear seats are not required.
The diesel engine is a little unrefined, but pulls well and reasonably economical, although updated engines are now available.

Very good, in 45 yrs of driving it's my first Vauxhall ever & it does everything I want, I am pleasantly supprised after 14 yrs of driving Volvo and Volkswagen.
Minus points are small door pockets, screen washer top up bottle in cold air streem in front of radiator, so in cold conditions the washers quickly freez up..

2003-reg Diesel, Owner for more than 5 years

Needs only servicing yearly to keep it going.only thing which does not work correctly is the glove box light which will not go out and the glove box sometimes falls open if not slammed shut, otherwise perfect! Recent trip to southern spain averaged 57mpg at 130kmh which is very good for a 100,000 mile plus car I think.

51-reg Diesel, Owner for Less than a year

Great for familys although their is a serious problem with zafira brake calipers that vauxhall are aware of but refuse to admit.
Excellent fuel economy 53mpg 2.0dti.
There are many rumours that these cars use alot of oil the people who write these comment either don't own a zafira or have some serious engine problem!

2003-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Been on two family holidays and was great, general running around with the family and pets has been good. Better on long runs on the motorway, but uses more on general running around as you would expect, especially as its an automatic, but even at 9 years old they are about what was quoted when the car was new.

Cost: 3/5
07-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Its all I need in a family vehicle. You can fill it with luggage and with a tow bar on the back I can put 4 bikes on the bike rack and its still quick enough and economical and its only a 1.6 engine.Only things I've replaced in 30000 miles are tyres and oil+filters. On the whole I can't fault it.

2011-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

12000 miles since taking delivery and no faults. this car replaced a previous zafira which we owned for 10 years, so we were happy to but another. Parts are relatively cheap and it returns very good mpg up to 55mph. however, this drops quickly once above 60mph.

Cost: 4/5
2007-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Broken down 6 times in 5 years! No more expensive than other cars for general running costs, just the breakdowns could have been expensive but some where under warranty and vauxhall agreed to pay for a swirl valve failure.

2006-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Owne for just over one year. not had any problems at all. The only running costs I have had are fuel and road tax, sevicing it doesnt do manufacturesrs mpg. best I have eve had driving very carefully is 39 mpg.

Cost: 4/5
2010-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Borken down once and had to be towed to vauxhall garage to be fixed. vauxhall did fix it at no charge though even though it was outside warranty. We dont get the mpg quoted in there literature.

Cost: 1/5
2005-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Only not started twice, once the battery and once cold weather. I feel I cannot afford it but with 5 kids I need a big car and I am told other cars are much more expensive to run.

Cost: 3/5
2011-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

Always starts and drives ok. small, intermittent concerns happen frequently. Franchise garage is expensive just to assess car problems and genuine parts seem expensive.

Cost: 3/5
56-reg Diesel, Owner for Less than a year

It does what it says on the tin...but with some nice perks, a feeling of total safety and handling...and great acceleration yet still getting great mpg (150 bhp model)

No problems so far. Disappointed with fuel consumption. had a 1.8vvt vectra previously which would better 40mpg. can't get close to that with the 1.6 zafira.

Car starts first time and runs well. I've had a couple of expensive repairs - a faulty thermostat and a worn wheel bearing - and an expensive mot.

Cost: 3/5
