Citroen DS3 150THP vs MINI Cooper S stunt driving challenge

Can the range topping turbo version of Citroen’s DS3 beat the MINI Cooper S round a stunt track? Watch our exclusive video review to find out.

Citroen reckons its DS3 has what it takes to go head-to-head with MINI. That means it not only has to look cool but must also be agile enough to put a smile on your face. And so we decided to put the range-topping turbo DS3 D Sport 150THP against a MINI Cooper S round a stunt track at Rockingham Motor Speedway in Northamptonshire.

Both cars essentially have the same 1.6-litre turbo engine. Only in the Citroen DS3 it’s tuned to 154bhp whereas in the MINI Cooper S it delivers 182bhp. But would this necessarily make the MINI faster round a stunt course? And if so by how much?

We handed the both sets of keys over to Sam Maher-Loughnan, who teaches with the Racing School’s Drifting and Stunt Driving experiences. Cue lots of handbrake turns and drifting.
