The Aston Martin Rapide has the looks. It has the pedigree. And, with a 6.0-litre V12 that pumps out 470bhp and is capable of 188mph, it has the performance too. The only drawback is the fact that at £139,500, the Rapide is about £40,000 more than a Porsche Panamera Turbo, which also makes a great case for being the ultimate four-door supercar.
Â
Sure the Porsche’s engine may be smaller at 4.8-litres. And, yes, it may have four fewer cylinders. But thanks to twin turbo chargers it delivers 493bhp and, just like the Aston, is good for a top speed of 188mph. But which car has the best acceleration over a standing quarter mile? We line the cars up for a drag race to find out.
Â
That’s not all though. In our video we also compare the two cars for agility, braking, practicality, and of course, desirability before deciding whether the Aston Martin Rapide or the Porsche Panamera Turbo is the ultimate four-door supercar.
