Lap of the Nurburgring at night

Here is footage from the Auto Express Lexus IS F which was raced at this year's Nurburgring 24-hours.

Enjoy a late-night lap of the Nurburgring! Ride on-board in a Lexus IS F for a lap of the legendary circuit in darkness during the 2010 Nurburgring 24 Hours.

Driven by Auto Express’s Owen Mildenhall, this stint in the IS F took place at around 3am in the morning. The footage from this gruelling race gives you a great insight into the challenges of driving the world’s toughest track in the dead of night.

Sharing this SP8 production class Lexus with co-drivers Kazunori Yamauchi, Hideshi Matsuda and Peter Lyon, the Lexus went on to finish in 59th overall and fourth in class behind the factory Lexus LFA and Aston Martin’s V12 Vantage and Rapide.

Dealing with traffic at night is tough so through the lap you will see the IS F passing lots of cars and being passed by the front-runners.

Look out for Audi’s amazing R8 LMS and countless examples of the Porsche GT3 Cup in this footage as well.

The amazing lights, fires and flares of the spectators add to the atmosphere, which you can just make out as the car does its lap.
