The S60 has been billed by Volvo as the Swedish maker's most dynamic car to date, and as the latest entrant into the compact executive class, the S60 faces very tough competition. The stylish Audi A4 and BMW's driver-orientated 3-Series will be sure to put up quite a fight.
In our video we drive the three four-door saloons back-to-back to discover if the Volvo can make a dent in a market dominated by the German manufacturers, plus we see just how 'dynamic' the new Volvo S60 actually is.
Proudly recognised as class leaders in safety, Volvo has fitted an emergency braking feature on the S60. Called Pedestrian Detection, this clever piece of technology promises to automatically stop the car from speeds under 20mph, in the event of a pedestrian or obstacle obstructing the car's path.
In the interest of safety we position our steadfast camerman in the road to see if this new technology actually works. Watch the video to find out what happens and to see if the Volvo S60 really is as good to drive as its rivals.
