We invited owners of the greatest special edition Subaru Imprezas to a mile long runway for a chance to pit their cars against the latest and most powerful special edition Subaru Impreza, the Cosworth STI CS400.
In our video the four models were put through a series of tests to find out which was the fastest over a standing mile, which could stop in the shortest distance and which could complete a slalom course in the quickest time.
We managed to find examples of the 22B, the P1 and RB5 special edition Imprezas all with dedicated owners keen to find out if they can beat the Cosworth modified newcomer.
Priced at nearly £50,000 the Cosworth STI CS400 is the latest variant of Subaru's rally car for the road powered by an uprated version of the current 2.5-litre four-cylinder boxer engine producing 395bhp. Armed with 119bhp more than the nearest rival and a claimed 0-62mph time of just 3.7 seconds the CS400 should have the opposition well and truly beaten, in a straight line at least.
Watch the video to find out which limited edition Impreza takes home the title.
