Porsche 911 GT3 Cup driven

We take a drive in Porsche's new 450bhp 911 GT3 Cup racer at the Silverstone circuit.

By Owen Mildenhall October 2010

We take a drive in the best-selling racing car of all time – the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. So far, Porsche Motorsport has built over 1,400 Cup versions of the GT3.

The new car made its debut this year in the Grand Prix supporting Supercup championship, and in 2011 will debut in the BTCC-supporting British Carrera Cup.

For the first time it’s based on the GT3 RS rather than the GT3 road car, so the latest Cup has a wider body, broader track and enhanced aerodynamics. The 3.8-litre engine produces 450bhp and deliveries to teams begin at the end of this month.

In 2011, this car will be used in seven national Carrera Cup championships and the flagship Supercup. Join us as we get an exclusive drive on the Silverstone National Circuit.
