Smart Four-door Family Car

Smart and Mitsubishi are developing a few more variants based on the Smart, other than the recently launched Coupe and Roadster.

Due for launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show, there will be a Smart four-door four-seater car, to be named the ForFour, and a Mitsubishi Colt four- and three-door model - both on the same platform, and both produced at the NedCar factory in the Netherlands. The Smart will be powered by three different engines: 1.0, 1.2 and 1.4 - or 1.5 turbodiesel - all of them new.

Smart has only released a sketch of how the four-seater might look. These photos, however, are showing for the first time a prototype of the new model from all angles, while the test engineers are trying - in vain - to quickly throw a canvas cloth over the secret car. Another two shots are showing the Mitsubishi Colt as a four door.
