Ferrari 456 GT

By Spy Video and Photos: Copyright by Hans G. Lehmann

April 2003

After having just introduced the super Enzo, Ferrari is about to develop the next newcomer from Maranello. Here are the very first photos of the next generation 456 GT, caught during top secret testing at Ferrari's proving ground in Italy.

The current model has been on the market almost unchanged since 1992. It is a 2+2 front-engined coupe, has rear-wheel-drive and is powered by a light alloy V12 48-valve 442bhp engine.

The pictured black prototype is still heavily disguised, including fake plastic panels on both sides. However, it cann be taken for granted that, once again, the new model will be a four-seater designed by Pininfarina. Power will be from a front engine, but little is known about how much of Ferrari's F1 technology will be used in the car.
