And if you think it looks familiar, you're right - fresh from painting Picassos in those Citroen ads, the basis of this stomach-churning experience is a car production line robot.

The inspiration came from last year's Bond film, Die Another Day, and in particular the scene where actress Halle Berry is picked up by a laser-wielding robot as 007 Pierce Brosnan tries to free her. Bosses at industrial robotics firm Kuka - used by the likes of BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Porsche and VW - saw the potential to promote their product, and the Robocoaster was born. Ten of the mechanical arms have been installed at a Legoland theme park in Denmark, and when we heard about their agile handling, crazy acceleration and astounding brakes, we had to go for a spin - literally!
