Y-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

The sharan is a fairly good people carrier, however getting spares and repairs is impossible and expensive. There are mistakes in chemical combinations, the rubber boots over the wiring react with the plastic coating of the wires causing them to crack... and short out, almost went on fire.

There always seems to be something going wrong with it. in most cases it requires the garage to investigate further. Not very economic, and needs regular fluid top ups (not just fuel).

2012-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

Been fault free from day 1. Not as cheap to run as I expected however it exactly what I wanted and it is a spacious car. the mpg figure of 50 is almost impossible to archive.

Things start to wear out at this age and milage (409,000 miles). Spare parts and fitting use up all the money saved on fuel.about ł500 on repairs this year .

Have lost drive belts once and drive pulleys and belts together once. The savings on fuel are enough to pay for spares and repairs.

Air conditioning radiator blew when they changed the fluids. Got a discount, but still expensive - especially in the heat of summer
