BMW 1-Series
Overall Average Rating - 86.04%
Position in the Top 100 cars - 39th
The baby BMW is a winner on paper, with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines, as well as cabrio, two, three and five-door options.
But while it racks up some decent figures for reliability, build quality and running costs – which were good for a premium-badged car – it was let down by a hard ride and supermini practicality.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 8th)
It trails Lexus, but BMW will be delighted to see that it’s still ahead of Mercedes and Audi… just. The brand has fallen two places overall this year, and will look to reverse that trend in 2010.
