Ford S-MAX
Overall Average Rating - 84.99%
Position in the Top 100 cars - 59th
A fine fourth place finish for practicality can’t mask an otherwise disappointing scoresheet.
Positions of 96th for reliability and 92nd for build suggest Ford’s quality control is going awry, while 90th for ease of driving is a poor advert for a car designed to haul families around the country in style.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 21st)
Having made progress in 2008, Ford has dropped back again this year. It’s 12 places higher than rival Vauxhall, and its cars are rated for practicality and handling. Yet owners’ main gripe is reliability.
