Land Rover Freelander (New)
Overall Average Rating - 89.21%
Position in the Top 100 cars - 9th
A regular Auto Express group test winner, Land Rover’s Freelander is a superb all-rounder. While it hasn’t quite matched the dizzy heights of its Discovery big brother, the compact SUV is well loved in all but one of your judging categories.
A lowly 71st place for running costs shows that owners are losing patience with big bills. Enviable ratings for both comfort and ride provide ample compensation, and help the Land Rover into the top 10 overall – a substantial leap of 10 places up the chart compared with Driver Power 2008.

Your Quotes
“Superb ride and comfort, a go-anywhere car with loads of room, visibility and presence. Has excellent oomph for overtaking yet is frugal, too. Owning it is a delight.”

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 7th)
What a leap up the chart! You say the Discovery and Freelander are so good to own, they wipe out the bad memory of older models. Sales are struggling, yet Land Rover still has the support of customers.
