New 2021 Peugeot 308 SW estate arrives with more space

The Peugeot 308 SW joins the hatchback in the range and arrives with two plug-in hybrid options

Peugeot has released pricing and specification details for the 2022 308 SW estate, with the 308 SW on sale now priced from £25,200, an increase of £1,200 over the 308 hatchback.

The range kicks off with Active Premium trim, with Allure and Allure Premium versions sitting above the entry-level car and sporty GT and GT Premium models heading the line-up.

Active Premium cars are fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels and ‘grained’ black exterior trim, along with automatic wipers, LED light clusters, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and rear parking sensors.

Peugeot’s 10-inch digital instrument display also features, alongside a raft of safety systems that include Active Safety Brake, traffic sign recognition and lane-keep assist.

For £27,050, Allure specification brings cosmetic upgrades such as 17-inch diamond-cut alloys and a chrome front grille. Inside, the seats are trimmed in cloth and a leather-effect material with Mint stitching, and door-panel ambient lighting is installed. Allure models and above feature 40/20/20 split-folding rear seats, too.

The infotainment system is also upgraded to include Peugeot’s Connected 3D navigation system and i-Connect voice assistant, in addition to a 180-degree reversing camera and front parking sensors.

Allure Premium cars feature Peugeot’s Drive Assist Pack, which brings rear cross-traffic alert, long-range blind spot detection and Stop & Go adaptive cruise control for an extra £900. A wireless smartphone charger is installed, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Priced from £29,850, GT models receive numerous styling tweaks for a sportier look, and additional interior tech. Bigger 18-inch alloys and Peugeot lion front wing crests are added, as well as extended side sills and a dark chrome grille. Two-tone roof rails and Peugeot’s LED Matrix lights round off the exterior upgrades.

Inside, GT cars are equipped with Clean Cabin Technology that filters pollutants entering the interior, and Peugeot’s configurable 3D-effect i-Cockpit instrument display. A heated leather steering wheel is also included, alongside seats trimmed in Alcantara.

GT trim also features a Focal Premium HiFi and Peugeot’s Driver Sport Pack, which offers sport settings for the steering and throttle response.

Topping the range is GT Premium specification, priced from £31,450. GT Premium cars come with 18-inch wheels of a different design, and more supportive front seats with a massage function and lumbar support.

Also included is the Drive Assist Pack Plus, which adds semi-autonomous lane positioning assist, a 360-degree parking camera and semi-automatic parking assistance. An electric tailgate with a foot sensor is fitted, too.

The 308 SW’s powertrain options mirror those of the hatch, with one petrol, one diesel and two plug-in hybrid offerings, all driving through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol engine is a turbocharged three-cylinder developing 128bhp, with the diesel also producing 128bhp from a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit.

Both hybrids use a petrol engine paired to a 109bhp electric motor and a 12.4kWh battery, to produce either 176bhp or 222bhp. However, neither hybrid can be specified in Active Premium trim, while the more powerful variant is only available with GT and GT Line trims.
