It's E for Electric! The MINI E is BMW’s first production electric vehicle and the future of the famous small car. Under the bonnet is a 201bhp electric motor, while the rear seats are replaced by a host of batteries. It’ll do 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds and thanks to tweaked suspension, it still handles as a MINI should. Charging is simple – you just plug it into the mains. However, you'll need a powerful 50-amp socket to recharge the batteries in just two hours, giving the MINI E a 150-mile range. You can't buy the MINI E just yet as it's only available on lease to a handful of cherry picked consumers, but there are plans to make a showroom-ready version.
