Lexus has a first-class reputation for building safe, dependable cars, and customer feedback from our 2022 Driver Power survey would generally seem to back this up. The NX didn't feature in the most recent poll although the previous generation NX managed to achieve 13th place on a 75-car list in 2021.

With the NX now featuring a more efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain, improved cabin ergonomics and a sharper infotainment setup, the premium SUV should be well set for a strong showing next time around.

In addition to more regular safety tech such as ABS and traction control, Lexus includes its Safety System+3 pack as standard for the NX. It uses a combination of camera and radar-based systems to help prevent a collision and to feed important information back to the driver. For example, Lane Tracing Assist helps keep the car in the centre of the lane, while Road Sign Assist will recognise traffic sign information and highlight it on the driver’s display screen.

The NX achieved a full five-star safety rating from industry crash-test body Euro NCAP. Scores of 81 per cent for adult occupant safety and 87 per cent for child passenger protection should provide reassurance - particularly for buyers looking for a family SUV.

Servicing

Lexus provides individual servicing plans tailored to the age and mileage of your car, with payment options over 24 or 36 months.

Warranty

Lexus offers a standard warranty of three-years/60,000 miles (whichever comes first), although you will receive a further 12-month’s cover each time you have your NX serviced at a Lexus Service Centre – up to a total of ten years or 100,000 miles. Three-years Lexus roadside assistance is included, too.
