New Volkswagen T-Roc Black Edition SUV revealed

Special edition Volkswagen T-Roc Black Edition builds on the spec of the SE variant, with fresh black trim and an updated interior

Volkswagen has launched a special edition version of the T-Roc crossover, called the Black Edition. It adds a host of additional equipment to the best-selling SE version of the T-Roc, as well as a selection of black styling details for the exterior and cabin. It’s on sale now, with prices starting from £23,750.

Cosmetic changes over the Volkswagen T-Roc SE include new black 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, rear privacy glass, a unique decal for the C-pillar and blacked-out replacements for the standard car’s radiator grille, mirror caps, roof rails and exhaust tips.

Like the T-Roc SE, buyers get front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control and a pair of electrically heated and foldable door mirrors with integrated puddle lights.

Despite its Black Edition nameplate, the special edition T-Roc is also available with the standard car’s colour palette, offering customers a choice of Energetic Orange, Turmeric Yellow, Ravenna Blue, Deep Black Pearl or Flash Red paint finishes.

Inside, buyers get piano black dashboard trim, black headlining, white ambient lighting, a leather-trimmed gear knob and a new multifunction sports steering wheel with contrasting grey stitching. Like the T-Roc SE, there’s also an eight-inch infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Buyers have a choice of four turbocharged engines – all of which send drive to the front wheels only. The petrol options consist of either 113bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder or a 148bhp 1.5-litre four-cylinder. Diesel customers can choose from either a 1.6-litre or 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit, with 113bhp or 148bhp respectively.
