New Rolls-Royce Wraith Luminary revealed

The ultra exclusive Rolls-Royce Wraith Luminary will be limited to just 55 examples

Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Wraith Luminary Collection, a limited-edition version of the two-door coupe created by the British manufacturer’s Bespoke Collection. Only 55 examples will be produced.

The Luminary name is said to be a reflection on the Wraith’s owner, ‘a person who inspires or influences others,’ according to Rolls-Royce. Finished in a new exterior colour called Sunburst Grey, a unique copper hand painted coachline also stretches along the bodywork. The wheel centres feature pinstripes finished in Saddlery Tan, which gives reference to the interior colour.

The interior is also trimmed in Saddlery Tan, although the rear seats are contrasted in a darker Anthracite leather to highlight the prominence of the driver’s position. Contrast piping and stitching help tie in the two-tone interior and both colours match the new two-tone steering wheel.

The cabin is finished in Tudor Oak Wood specially sourced from the forests of the Czech Republic because of its depth of colour. A unique feature in the Wraith Luminary is the new starlight headliner, which incorporates 1,340 fibre optic lights designed to replicate the look of the night sky and takes nearly 20 hours to create.

In a first for a Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collection, a hand-woven stainless-steel fabric, surrounds the central transmission tunnel and doors so that it contrasts the Tudor Oak wood and Saddlery Tan leather. The fibre, which takes three days to produce, also refracts the light from the unique illuminated door panels.

Under the bonnet the Wraith’s 623bhp 6.6-litre V12 engine remains unchanged. Rolls-Royce hasn’t given a price indication but expect it to be well in excess of the standard Wraith’s £240,768 price tag.
