SsangYong Korando CSX Commercial gets facelift and CS model
SsangYong has revised its Korando CSX Commercial van, with a new low £12,995 pricetag and two-wheel drive option called the CS
SsangYong's CSX Commercial 4x4 van adaptation of the Korando SUV has now received a mid-life facelift. There’s a new lower price too thanks to the arrival of a front-wheel-drive CS version.
Starting from just £12,995 (ex VAT) for the new two-wheel drive CS model, the revised Korando van delivers a saving of £3,000 over the outgoing model's initial price, and a huge saving over its nearest rival, the Mitsubishi ASX 4Work. The four-wheel drive CSX model starts at £14,295 (ex VAT), and there's even a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty across the range.
Exterior changes are limited to the front end, which gets a new grille and bumper design, projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. The interior gets a completely new dashboard and SsangYong also claims it has made 'great advances' in improving NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) levels.
Mechanically, the Korando van remains identical to the previous model, apart from the addition of that front-wheel drive base model. CSX trim still has the 'Torque on Demand' 4WD system that sends power to the rear wheels when traction is lost. The familiar 2.0-litre turbodiesel remains, producing 147bhp and 360Nm of torque.
CO2 emissions for the two-wheel drive model come down to a respectable 147g/km, while the 4WD remains at 157g/km. we'd expect a slight improvement in MPG for the base model over the current car's 45.6mpg.
With a 1,312-litre and 152cm loadspace, the Korando isn't the most spacious van in the market, but it is usefully adept at pulling a two-tonne trailer and has a 433kg payload. The Korando CS and CSX Commercial are available to order now.
