Alfa confirms prices, specs and release dates for hot Alfa Romeo Guilietta & MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde models

Alfa Romeo is ready to launch new versions of the Giulietta and MiTo in flagship Quadrifoglio Verde trim, with both models set for official UK debuts at this month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed

In Quadrifoglio Verde spec – often known as Cloverleaf in the UK – the updated Giulietta will feature the 237bhp aluminium 1.75-litre turbocharged petrol engine that first appeared in the 4C coupe, which generates 340Nm of torque.

Paired to Alfa’s TCT 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox with Launch Control system, which also makes its way over from the Italian manufacturer’s new sports car, the Giulietta QV will manage 0-62mph in 6 seconds flat.

Although 0.8 seconds faster than its predecessor and capable of a 149mph top speed, the Giulietta is also compliant with Euro 6 standards, emitting 162g/km of CO2 – a reduction of 15g/km.

As well as new intake and exhaust systems to help the Alfa audibly stand out, there are visual cues in the form of lowered sports suspension, dark-tinted rear windows, and an Anthracite finish for the front grille, wing mirrors, door handles and fog-light frames.

A limited-run ‘Launch Edition’ model builds on this specification still further, offering carbon fibre details, new side skirts and rear diffuser, as well as burnished 5-hole 18-inch alloys ans a unique numbered plaque. 100 of the 500 to be made will make it to the UK, priced from £30,280 and available in new matt Magnesio Grey.

The Quadrifoglio Verde trim MiTo benefits from a similar range of updates, distinguished by a burnished finish on the headlight surrounds, front grille, door mirrors and handles, and the taillight surrounds. There are 18-inch alloys and the same red brake callipers, too.

Marking out the interior is a ‘carbon look’ dashboard, black leather with white stitching and new instruments. In car tech again comes in the form Alfa’s Uconnect multimedia system, fitted here with a slightly smaller five-inch touch-screen.

Power for the MiTo QV will come from a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo petrol unit, developing a maximum 168bhp and 250Nm of torque. Alfa Romeo claims it’ll clock 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds – making it 0.2 seconds quicker than before – as it heads to 136mph.

Despite that, it will still manage 52mpg and emits 124 g/km of CO2, thanks to the new TCT gearbox, fitted to the MiTo without Launch Control, and a stop-start system.
