Lotus reveals classic F1 inspired Evora Sport 410 GP Edition

GP Edition version of most potent Evora introduces classic Lotus F1 colours to the US market

Lotus has revealed another special edition Evora Sport 410, and like other special editions from the brand it's intended to highlight what customers can spec through the firm’s ‘Exclusive’ finishing programme, as well as drawing on the company’s rich history.

Called the Evora Sport 410 GP Edition, it’s a new special edition sports car for the North American market, boasting a colour scheme evocative of some of Lotus’ most successful Formula 1 cars. The classic black finish with gold highlights was the colour scheme used by Team Lotus in Formula 1 from 1972 to 1986. The ten-spoke forged aluminium wheels even come with gold highlights, while inside the cabin, gold contrast stitching is used in combination with black leather.

Elsewhere, the car is unchanged. The Evora Sport 410 is the firm’s most potent car, and uses a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 packing 410bhp. Combined with a dry weight of 1,370kg thanks to plenty of carbon-fibre parts and weight reduction techniques, it’s good for 0-62mph in four seconds and a top speed of 190mph.

The Evora Sport 410 is limited in terms of production numbers – Lotus makes 150 annually for global release. While in the USA, the standard car costs from $104,200 (£83,700), the black and gold liveried GP edition will be priced from $110,000 (£88,500).

Earlier this year, Lotus revealed a one-off Evora Sport 410 finished in tribute to the Esprit S1 driven by James Bond in The Spy Who Loved Me. With the arrival of the GP Edition, it could mean even more Evoras inspired by Lotus’ past could come in the future.
