The E-Tech full hybrid system consists of a turbocharged petrol engine, coupled with a new e-motor and lithium-ion battery, while drive is sent through a multi-modal gearbox. With a combined power output of 200hp, the Renault Austral has all the performance you might need, but it also returns up to 60.1mpg† and emits as little as 105g/km of CO2.
Perhaps most impressively of all, the Renault Austral boasts up to 683 miles^ of range without the need to recharge the battery or refuel. Instead, charging takes place when you decelerate and brake.

Below 30mph, the rear wheels steer slightly in the opposite direction to which the car is turning, reducing the overall turning circle to just 10.1m and helping to navigate narrow city streets effortlessly. Above 30mph, the rear wheels turn marginally in the same direction as the driver has steered, offering increased stability and cornering ability.
The 4Control Advanced system is incorporated into the new Austral’s Multi-Sense driver mode set-up, which offers Comfort, eco, Sport and a personal mode. These control various functions of the car, such as steering firmness, engine response and even the interior lighting ambience, adjusting the character of the car to suit your mood, situation and driving style. The personal mode allows the driver to define their own settings according to personal taste.
