Have you made a mistake?
A new Toyota Yaris Hybrid has been confirmed as the most fuel-efficient Toyota hybrid to date. The Yaris Hybrid will deliver a claimed 80mpg and 104g/km, bettering both the Auris and Prius hybrids, which return 89g/km.
If it delivers 104g/km how can that be more efficient?
PaulVFR800 has got a good point. The Yaris Hybrid may have MORE CO2 than the Prius and Auris Hybrid. but both of them do 72-75mpg, whereas this does more, however. Another plus side is the fact that's it's cheaper than the others too.
....if the 104g/km is correct. Will mean higher VED and will not be CC-exempt
Thanks for your comments. We've now updated this story.
Toyota hasn't yet released emissions figures for the Yaris Hybrid but we'd expect around 85g/km - which would make it road tax and CC exempt.
Thanks again,

Read user's reports in the Auto Trader website and you will see that most owners of the main hybrids (Prius, Auris and the Honda) report on fuel consumption. They all report much higher consumption (20 mpg less) than the official figures. Why should we believe 80 mpg for this car?
