New Mitsubishi L200 pick-up teased ahead of full reveal in November

We’ll get to see the new Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck on November 9. Here’s what we know so far

Ahead of it’s official reveal on 9 November, a new teaser image for the upcoming sixth generation Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck has been released. Despite having been in production for 40 years, the L200 model line is still going strong and the next version will have a lot to live up to.

Following a shadowy glimpse of the aggressive new front end teased in September, in the latest teaser we can see the L200’s clean new design, inspired by Mitsubishi’s large SUV the Shogun Sport. It’s possible to pick out a sleek polished grille and LED daytime running lights. On the side of the truck, two creases run above each wheel arch, creating the illusion of a one-piece body construction.

In the previous teaser image a huge gap between the wheelarch lip and the tyre's edge suggest that long-travel suspension will be used to maintain the L200's off-road pedigree. The headlights are narrow and sleek, showing a progression away from the function-over-form rule of previous generation L200s. New larger fog lights can also be seen in the image, which help give the front end a more bulky and aggressive look.

Not only has the new L200 got to face off against current rivals such as Isuzu D-MAX, Nissan Navara and Toyota Hilux but also against a crop of new pick-ups. Since the current generation Mitsubishi L200 went on sale in 2014, the pick-up game has changed with the introduction of the new class leaders. There is growing demand globally for more premium models such as the Mercedes X-Class and VW Amarok, and we’ve also seen the introduction of performance off-road pick-ups such as the upcoming Ford Ranger Raptor.

What do you think of the new L200? Let us know in the comments...
