After a strong 2014 campaign, Red Bull suffered a winless season in 2015, culminating in company boss Dietrich Mateschitz threatening to pull out of the sport entirely. After exploring a number of options over the winter, the squad has settled on retaining Renault engines for 2016, albeit rebadged by new sponsor TAG Heuer. It’s expected to still be down on power compared to Mercedes and Ferrari at the start of the year, so the team is hoping to start modestly then improve as the year progresses. Ricciardo himself is targeting a single win.
Our verdict: Ricciardo and Kvyat are both fast and motivated, with the latter hoping to repeat his higher points tally than Ricciardo in 2015.
