Toyota reveals limited edition Aygo x-claim for summer

New x-claim model is limited to just 350 units in the UK and comes with a contrasting white and red finish inside and out

Toyota has revealed a new limited edition Aygo, aimed to entice British buyers towards the Japanese marque’s alternative to the likes of the Volkswagen up!, SEAT Mii and Skoda Citigo

Called the Aygo x-claim, just 350 will go on sale in the UK this summer, all of them with five-doors. Prices will start at £14,195 for the car with a five-speed manual gearbox, while a pricier automatic version will hit showrooms from £14,895. Just one engine is available – a 68bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol.

In terms of equipment, the Aygo x-claim is based on the range topping x-clusiv version of Toyota’s city car. As standard, that means the x-claim comes with a DAB radio operated through a 7-inch multimedia touchscreen infotainment system complete with Bluetooth, a leather steering wheel, automatic projector style headlights, automatic air conditioning, plus a reversing camera.

Much of what makes this special edition car special, however, is the unique styling tweaks applied inside and out. A red and white colour scheme is applied almost everywhere, while the retractable canvas roof is finished in ‘Bordeaux red’.

15-inch alloy wheels are painted white with burgundy-edged centre caps, while the white body is offset with burgundy decals. In contrast, the front ‘X’ bodywork and the rear bumper inserts are finished in gloss black.

It’s the same story in the cabin. The dashboard and instrument panels are finished in burgundy, while the air vents get a bright white surround.

The new limited edition Aygo x-claim is on sale now.
