Hapro Roady 4000

The cheapest and lightest solid box on test, Hapro’s Roady 4000 has Masterfit clips that slot into a channelled roof bar, once you have the additional rubber protectors in place.

Best price: £230

The cheapest and lightest solid box on test, Hapro’s Roady 4000 has Masterfit clips that slot into a channelled roof bar, once you have the additional rubber protectors in place. Fitting is a bit more fiddly than with the other boxes, but the price is more reasonable. If you’ve got solid roof bars, you can buy adapters that will need a little more fiddling. This box is better suited to hatches as it’s only rear access and locks from the back; it won’t suit long estate cars.
