Special edition Pikes Peak Bentley Continental GT launched

Bentley’s latest limited edition model celebrates the Continental GT W12’s record-breaking run up Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

Bentley has launched another limited edition version of the Continental GT W12, which celebrates the car’s record-breaking production car run up the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The special edition model will be available to order later this month, with production being limited to 15 just examples.

In June of this year, Rhys Millen shaved 8.4 seconds off the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb production car record at the wheel of a W12-powered Contental GT, stealing the crown from the Porsche 911 Turbo S. It completed the 12.42-mile course in ten minutes 18.4 seconds at an impressive average speed of 70mph.

The special edition Continental GT shares the same electric yellow paint finish as the record-breaking car, along with its gloss black wing mirrors, front bumper inserts, rear fascia panel and roof. There’s also a set of 22-inch Mulliner Driving Specification alloys, finished in black, along with Acid Green brake calipers and a carbon fibre exterior styling package.

There’s also a unique Pikes Peak decal stamped the car’s front wings and coloured tyre lettering, finished in the same Radium paint as the bodywork. Buyers can also spec an optional “100” branded radiator grille, which Bentley says marks the fact that the hill climb record took place in the brand’s centenary year.

Inside, the Continental GT is trimmed in Alcantara and Beluga hide, with contrasting Radium stitching. The Pikes Peak logo is embroidered into all four of the car’s headrests, while the steering wheel features a honeycomb stitching design and centre stripe – the colours of which are all matched to the exterior paintwork.

Bentley’s three-sided rotating display is fitted as standard, along with a Bang & Olufsen stereo system. There’s a blend of carbon fibre and piano black trim through the cabin, while the passenger-side dash panel features a unique graphic showing a section of the Pikes Peak course. A different section of the course will be printed on each of the cars in the 15-strong production run, as well as the car’s record-breaking time of 10:18.488.

Like the record-breaking Continental GT, this limited edition model is powered by Bentley’s twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12. The engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and develops 626bhp and 900Nm of torque, which is enough for a 0–62mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 207mph.
